Capsules vs. Pills
All our supplements come in capsule form, non come in pill form. This greatly enhances the quality of the pureness of the product by reducing to a minimum the non-value added addition of fillers and binders. This naturally increases the price. Quality does come at a cost.

Down with Maltodextrin and eliminate Sucrose and Sweeteners
Where possible, the usage of Maltodextrin and Sucrose are either not used or are used to a minimum. Even more so goes for Artificial Sweeteners; simply not used. Maltodextrin is made from starch and is normally used to thicken, sweeten or preserve ingredients. It has no nutritional value. It can in some cases cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Sucrose is produced naturally in plants, it is made of glucose and fructose. It can be used as a preservative. Again, it too has no nutritional value. We strive to use as little of these ingredients as possible or as mentioned, eliminate them. Where they do exist in our supplements they are made use of at minimum quantity, with the exception of artificial Sweeteners, that we simply do not make use of at all in any of our food supplements.

Let’s not overdo Calcium
Yes, we know that Calcium is vital for proper functioning of the human body; Bone health, Nerve Transmission, Hormonal Secretion, Blood Clotting, Muscle Function [to name some]. There is an abundance of foods out there that provide ample amounts of Calcium for a regular daily intake, think of Milk, Cheese, Yoghurt, Leafy Greens, Seeds, Tofu/Soy, Nuts and Fish. Let’s not forget foods that are artificially enriched with Calcium; some plant-based milks, fruit juices, breakfast cereals, bread, flour, snack [to name a few].
In short, there is no shortage of Calcium ingestion in our daily lives. Hence most likely we prefer not to worry too much about ones Calcium levels based on the wide range of foods one can readily find available.
Over loading on Calcium can have negative effects on the human body.

What about Excipients
Excipients are a group of compounds used in the pharmaceutical industry, such as, binders, fillers, disintegrants, coatings agents, lubricants and glidants.
In some cases excipients can cause harm; allergic reactions and/or toxicity for sensitive individuals, interact with active pharmaceutical ingredients and produce side effects.
None of our supplements come in pill of tablet form; they all come in capsule form that contain the nutrients in actual free powder form. Hence, excipients do not make up any part of Nutritelligent labelled food supplements. This makes our capsules contain more of the pure form of the nutrients targeted to be delivered.
Just what is Silica Dioxide
For starters SiO2 is a compound that obviously is made up of one atom of Silicon and 2 atoms of Oxygen. It is used in the industry for the manufacture of glass and concrete (amongst other things). In the nutritional food supplement industry it is used as an anticaking agent to stop powdered supplements from clumping up.
Food sources such as Asparagus, Potatoes, Oats, Brown Rice, Bananas all contain Silica Dioxide.

What is there not to like about ORGANIC and non-GMO
Indeed, some of our Food Supplements do come in ORGANIC form and all of them are non-GMO. Nevertheless, just because something is ORGANIC and/or non-GMO does not mean it is appropriate to consume for you, as each person has different needs, sensitivities, intolerances and allergies. The same applies to the natural foods we eat on a daily basis. What might be perfectly healthy for one person might not be so for another; think nuts or dairy products for example.

Enough of the Iron?
Liver, Lamb, Beef, Nuts, Broccoli, Potatoes, Sweat Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Tomatoes, String Beans, Red Cabbage, Spinach, dried Apricots, Raisins and Prunes are some of the sources that contain Iron. In addition there are many foods that are artificially fortified with iron, such as, Bread, Cereals, Orange Juice, Rice, Pasta and Tofu. Just keep in mind that Iron sourced from meet is more readily absorbed by the human body than Iron sourced from vegetables and fruits. Don’t worry too much about that if you are a vegetarian or vegan, as consuming food sources with Vitamin C alongside Iron enhance the abortion of Iron coming from fruits and vegetables.
Try out our ORGANIC ALGAE-SEAWEED COMPLEX food supplement that is made up of Chlorella, Spirulina and Kelp. It naturally contains Vitamins A,B,C,D,E, K and minerals such as Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Phosphorous, Potassium, Iron and other nutrients such as Essential Amino Acids, Beta-Carotene, Chlorophyll, Omega-6 and Omega-3 Fatty Acids
If you truly have a deficiency in Iron or if your body is not absorbing Iron efficiently then it would be a great opportunity for you to seek professional medical/nutritional advice and support..

No Magnesium Stearate
Mg(C18H35O2)2 is a compound usually used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. Used as a flow agent to prevent ingredients in a product (capsule) from sticking with one another which aids in providing better consistency. It can also be used as a bulking agent, anti-caking agent and colourant. Magnesium Stearate is not present in any of our food supplements.

Not too keen on Copper?
A critical trace mineral for the human body, no doubt about it. Copper deficiency is quite rare. As it is needed in trace amounts only, it is best to acquire it through natural sources where it is inherently present and works in synergy with all the other nutrients present in the food source. Foods that contain Copper are Liver, Oysters, Spirulina, Nuts/Seeds, Leafy greens and yes… Dark Chocolate…! On another note, there are foods that are fortified with Copper also, such as, Infant Formula, Cereals, Pasta, Bread, Crackers, Orange Juice, Soy Milk. That is why we have formulated an Organic Chlorella, Spirulina, Kelp containing food supplement [ORGANIC ALGAE-SEAWEED COMPLEX]. It contains Vitamins A,B,C,D,E, K and minerals such as Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Phosphorous, Potassium, Iron and other nutrients such as Essential Amino Acids, Beta-Carotene, Chlorophyll, Omega-6 and Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

Did you notice?
In some of our product line-ups you will notice that the same nutrient comes in multiple forms. For example Vitamins C, B3, B6 and minerals such as Zinc and Magnesium. This is to provide an enhanced spectrum of nutrients. In addition our “Targeted Synergy” labelled products combine a specific blend of nutrients to enhance [what we think] the efficacy of certain nutrients working in synergy with one another.
